Richard L. Averitte, Jr., MD
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner
Dr. Richard L. Averitte, Jr. is the founding physician of Affiliated Dermatology, which was established in July, 2002. Dr. Averitte received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio University and his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio. Dr. Averitte completed his internship in internal medicine at Summa Health System. Dr. Averitte completed his dermatology residency at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals of Cleveland. He served as the chief resident in Dermatology at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals of Cleveland. Dr. Averitte is Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology, College of Medicine and Life Sciences at University of Toledo. Dr. Averitte is the founder of the Arizona Skin Cancer Foundation and board member of the American Liver Foundation, Southwest Division. Professional memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Mohs Surgery. Dr. Averitte is also a member of the Ventana 2013 Tucson Symposium, Melanoma Advisory Board.
Christine C. Lin, MD
Chief of Staff
Dr. Christine Lin joined Affiliated Dermatology in December, 2005 after practicing in Westlake Village, California for four years. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Massachusets Institute of Technology and her medical degree from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. Her internship in internal medicine was completed at the UCLA-San Fernando Valley Program in Sylmar, California. Dr. Lin completed her dermatology residency at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals of Cleveland. She served as the chief resident in Dermatology at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals of Cleveland. Dr. Lin is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Professional memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Mohs Surgery, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
Marlie R. Averitte
Chief Financial Officer
Marlie Averitte helped to establish Affiliated Dermatology in 2002. Ms. Averitte is the Chief Financial Officer for the company. She received her bachelor of arts in Sociology from Northern Arizona University in 1998. Having a long history in the medical field, Ms. Averitte was the Administrative Coordinator for the Internal Medicine Residency Program and Subspecialty Fellowships at Banner Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center from 1991 through 1998.
J. Scott Maniates
Chief Information Officer
Scott Maniates joined Affiliated Dermatology as CIO in January, 2012, bringing more than thirteen years of HealthCare IT experience. Scott has been involved with the IT aspect of Affiliated Dermatology since the practice opened in 2002. Scott became a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialistin April, 2008. He became a Microsoft Certified Professional in March, 2007.
Suzanne C. Murry
Senior Operations Manager and Residency Coordinator
Suzanne Murry joined Affiliated Dermatology in 2005. Her career with the company began with her externship, post graduation from Long Technical College, where she earned a certificate in Medical Assisting. Suzanne's extensive experience in both front and back office operations has allowed her to be promoted to the position of Senior Operations Manager, where she oversees over hundred employees. Suzanne has also furthered her education and increased her management capabilities by achieving a certificate in Business Management through Rio Salado Community College. Suzanne has been an active board member for Kaplan College since 2009.
Marianne L. Ketterhagen
Human Resources Manager and Credentialing Administrator
Marianne Ketterhagen joined Affiliated Dermatology® in 2009, shortly after relocating from Chicago. Prior to her position as Human Resources Manager, Marianne was employed with the company as a front desk receptionist, patient care coordinator, and credentialing administrator. Her familiarity with the company and employees is beneficial in her role with staffing, employee benefits, and learning and development. In addition, she works closely with extern coordinators and career advisors throughout the Valley to facilitate clinical education and job placement for new graduates of local educational institutes. She serves as an Advisory Board Committee member for Allen School of Health Sciences and West-MEC Technical School. Marianne is currently furthering her education in Human Resources Management through Phoenix College and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
Michelle A. Harmeson Miles
Assistant Operations Manager
Michelle is a native of Phoenix, Arizona. She has been with Affiliated since 2009. She graduated from Bryman College in 1993 where she received her certification as a Medical Assistant and has over 23 years experience in the Dermatology field. She has participated in two Dermatology Residency Programs. She currently serves on the Affiliated Dermatology Residency Committee Board. She oversees 65+ employees. She is currently continuing her education towards her Bachelors Degree at Grand Canyon University. Michelle actively volunteers at Arizona Skin Cancer Foundation.
Sheli K. Cherney
Assistant Operations Manager
Sheli joined Affiliated Dermatology in 2007, bringing more than 19 years of experience in the medical field. Sheli started her career with Affiliated Dermatology, right at the time of their expansion. She has been their lead receptionist for many years. Sheli’s extensive experience and familiarity of the practice, has allowed her to recently be promoted to Assistant Operations Manager, where she oversees all front office receptionists. In addition, Sheli volunteers her time and actively fund-raises, in support of the Arizona Skin Cancer.
Business Development Manager
Sarah Potekhen joined Affiliated Dermatology in 2014. She graduated from ASU with a degree in Accounting in 2000 and brings with her over 17 years of project management and business analysis experience within in the Healthcare industry, including 10 years in clinical research management, marketing product launches and business development and strategy work, including mergers and acquisitions. Sarah currently oversees all growth opportunities and special projects for Affiliated Dermatology and is proud to lead the Business Development and Marketing team. Originally from Minnesota, Sarah has been in the valley for almost 20 years and can’t imagine living anywhere else. Outside of the office, Sarah can be found spending time with her husband and two amazing children. She is also an avid hiker, wakeboarder and snowboarder, whenever she can find the time.
Jamie Barto joined Affiliated Laboratories in August 2014. Jamie has more than 21 years of Histology laboratory experience, including eleven years in laboratory management. In addition to overseeing the laboratory, Jamie maintains Affiliated Laboratories’ CAP accreditation and is a trained CAP inspector. Prior to working at Affiliated Laboratories, Jamie worked with various pathology laboratories in the Phoenix area. Jamie became a certified Histotechnician in December 2003. She has been an active member in the National Society for Histotechnology and was the Secretary for the Arizona Society for Histotechnology.
