Do you have a gummy smile? Did you know that you can get a Lip Flip to help it? It’s very easy and just a small amount of filler is used. Did you catch us on Sonoran Living with Susan Casper ABC15 this morning? Jamie, one of our amazing injectors, talked about what the difference was between fillers and Botox.

What is Botox?

Botox is FDA-approved for the treatment and prevention of wrinkles of the upper face. Botox is the only approved treatment to temporarily improve the appearance of both moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and crow’s feet lines in adults. The procedure offers quick, dramatic results.

How Does Botox Work?

Botox targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet-the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Your specialist will inject these muscles with Botox to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of your crow’s feet lines and frown lines between your brows.

What Causes Wrinkles?

Wrinkles result from a combination of many factors. It’s not just about cellular changes that can occur over time, reduction of collagen, or damage caused by free radicals in the sun and the environment. When you frown or concentrate, the muscles between your brows contract, causing your skin to furrow and fold. And when you squint, the muscles around your eyes contract and cause crow’s feet. Botox works beneath the skin’s surface and targets the underlying muscle activity that causes frown lines and crow’s feet.

What are Lip and Dermal Fillers?

Fillers are substances like hyaluronic acid that are formulated to add volume and fullness beneath the surface of the skin. Over time, your skin loses elasticity and moisture, which contributes to moderate to severe parentheses lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. Lip and dermal fillers add volume to smooth these lines and folds, to help give you the natural-looking, long-lasting results you want. Dermal fillers add volume and smooth out wrinkles by replenishing natural Hyaluronic Acid that has been lost. All dermal fillers are a smooth, crystal-clear gel that are administered by injection in our aesthetic clinics. Fillers can help with:
  • Plumping thin lips
  • Enhancing or filling shallow areas on the face
  • Decrease or remove shadows and/or wrinkles under the eyes
  • Fill in or soften the look of sunken scars
  • Fill in or soften static wrinkles

What is a Lip Flip?

The lip flip procedure consists of Botox injected into the muscle around the lips to help relax the muscles. This results in the lip to flip outwards enough to reveal a thicker pout. The treatment is super quick and simple, taking almost less than two minutes!
